Fifteen-year-old Jake from Springfield, MO, is full of life. He loves spending time with his big brother when he’s home from college, snuggling his dog, Dolly, and enjoying his favorite meal—cheeseburgers, fries, and a milkshake. Whether he’s riding the bus to school or exploring local parks, Jake embraces each day with joy. Born at just 25 weeks and weighing only 2.5 pounds, Jake has faced significant medical challenges, including cerebral palsy and epilepsy. Because he cannot sit up on his own, he needed a specialized safety bed with adjustable positioning, padding to protect against injury, and high rails to prevent falls. Until now, his family had to push furniture against his bed each night to create a makeshift barrier—an unsafe and unsustainable solution. That’s where A Bed for Izzy stepped in. Thanks to the generosity of the incredible community, Jake’s fundraising campaign ran from February 15 to February 25, 2025—and it was fully funded! Because of this outpouring of support, we were able to provide Jake with a bed designed specifically for his needs. Now, he can sleep safely, comfortably, and with the support he requires.
