Fifteen-year-old Jake from Springfield, MO, is full of life. He loves spending time with his big brother when he’s home from college, snuggling his dog, Dolly, and enjoying his favorite meal—cheeseburgers, fries, and a milkshake. Whether he’s riding the bus to school or exploring local parks, Jake embraces each day with joy. Born at just 25 weeks and weighing only 2.5 pounds, Jake has faced significant medical challenges, including cerebral palsy and epilepsy. Because he cannot sit up on his own, he needed a specialized safety bed with adjustable positioning, padding to protect against injury, and high rails to prevent falls. Until now, his family had to push furniture against his bed each night to create a makeshift barrier—an unsafe and unsustainable solution. That’s where A Bed for Izzy stepped in. Thanks to the generosity of the incredible community, Jake’s fundraising campaign ran from February 15 to February 25, 2025—and it was fully funded! Because of this outpouring of support, we were able to provide Jake with a bed designed specifically for his needs. Now, he can sleep safely, comfortably, and with the support he requires. In July 2025, Cruz’s dream of a safe place to sleep became a reality—thanks to the generosity of Hunter Property Management and the unwavering support of his community. Cruz is a fun-loving 6-year-old from the St. Louis area who can talk your ear off about the Disney movie CARS. His energy and enthusiasm are contagious, but behind his bright smile lies a complex medical journey. Cruz lives with Okur-Chung Neurodevelopmental Syndrome (OCNDS), a rare condition affecting only about 360 children worldwide. He also faces autism, ADHD, seizures, sleep apnea (both central and obstructive), pica, hypotonia, self-injurious behaviors, and depends on a feeding tube. On top of this, he’s at high risk for wandering, making nighttime especially dangerous.
For Cruz, a SleepSafe Closed Extension Bed—costing $7,785.52—wasn’t just a comfort, it was a necessity. This specialized bed would protect him from injury, prevent wandering, and reduce medical emergencies, giving his family peace of mind and Cruz the safety he deserves.
When the need was shared, the community rallied. Donations poured in, and with the incredible help of Hunter Property Management, the full cost of Cruz’s bed was funded. Today, Cruz sleeps safely each night, and his family rests knowing he’s protected. One bed. One child. One community at a time.

In July 2025, Johnny’s dream of a peaceful, safe sleep became a reality—thanks to the incredible generosity of Hunter Property Management. Johnny is a joyful and energetic 9-year-old from Springfield, MO. He lives with severe autism and faces profound sensory integration challenges, along with significant sleep disturbances that affect not only his daily life but his entire family’s well-being. Johnny’s sensory needs are complex—he avoids bright lights and loud sounds but craves constant movement and deep pressure. Large, open spaces make him anxious, and he finds comfort in small, dark spaces where he can feel secure. Even with therapies, medications, and a structured bedtime routine, sleep remained one of Johnny’s biggest struggles. Many nights he would wake as early as 3 or 4 a.m., unable to go back to sleep, often engaging in unsafe behaviors like climbing furniture, wandering, or emptying the fridge. What Johnny needed was a sleep environment designed just for him—a place to block out the sights and sounds that overwhelm him while offering the security and comfort his body craves. A ZPod bed was the answer. With its enclosed, sound-reducing design, customizable lighting, and built-in safety features, it could finally give Johnny the calm and regulated space he needed to rest. The $6,100 cost of a ZPod was out of reach for Johnny’s family—but when the need was shared, Hunter Property Management stepped in and fully funded the bed. Today, Johnny has the safe, supportive place to sleep that he deserves, and his family can finally rest knowing he’s protected. One bed. One child. One community at a time.

Eleanor is a strong and joyful 5-year-old from Mountain Grove, MO. She was born three months premature and faced significant challenges early in life, including surviving Shaken Baby Syndrome before finding her forever home with her biological father. Eleanor lives with autism, epilepsy with both generalized and focal seizures, global developmental delay, and nystagmus. She communicates in her own beautiful way and has a remarkable gift for drawing people in. Though she uses a walker and works hard to stand and walk independently, her determination never wavers — even when myoclonic jerks bring tears. Eleanor doesn’t give up and isn’t afraid of anything. She loves to play outside, splash in water, listen to music, and look at books. Wherever she goes, Eleanor brings joy to others — family, friends, or strangers — and always manages to make them smile. In November 2025, Eleanor’s campaign was fully funded, allowing her to receive a specialized Cubby Bed — a safe, enclosed bed designed to protect her from injury during seizures, keep her secure through the night, and give her family peace of mind.
Eleanor is a true survivor. Her strength and joy remind us what faith, love, and community can do together.

Anson is a bright and curious 9-year-old from Shelbina, Missouri, who sees the world in his own unique and beautiful way. He loves hats, his dog, and exploring anything that captures his imagination. Anson also lives with autism, ADHD, OCD, chromosome duplication, PICA, intellectual and developmental disability (IDD), and significant sleep disturbances — challenges that make nights especially difficult. Over the years, Anson has unintentionally destroyed every traditional bed he’s had. He now sleeps on a small pallet of blankets on the floor, and often seeks tight, enclosed spaces like cabinets to feel safe and regulated. Because of his PICA and sensory needs, most beds simply aren’t safe, durable, or calming enough for him. His family also can’t leave him unattended without fearing for his safety. That’s why a zPod is so life-changing for Anson. This specialized bed is built for children who need a secure, enclosed, and sensory-friendly space. With durable construction, calming lights, gentle airflow, and a safe enclosed design, the zPod gives Anson something he has never had before: a comfortable space that meets his needs and protects him at the same time. And thanks to the incredible generosity of donors, Anson’s bed was fully funded in just THREE days in November 2025. This bed will give Anson a safe place to rest, recharge, and be himself — and it will give his family the peace of mind they’ve been praying for.

Just in time for Thanksgiving 2025, Matty’s safety bed was officially fully funded, bringing immense relief and hope to his family. Matty is a bright and beautiful 3-year-old from Springfield, Missouri. Born 10 weeks early and weighing just over 2.5 pounds, he spent the first six months of his life on a ventilator. His early arrival led to ongoing medical and developmental challenges, including chronic lung disease of prematurity, low muscle tone (hypotonia), and Autism Spectrum Disorder Level 3—meaning he requires very substantial support in all areas of life. Nighttime has been one of the biggest safety concerns for Matty. He wakes frequently, wanders, and is an elopement and fall risk—made even more dangerous by the fact that he is nonverbal and unable to call for help. Living on a rural farm, his mom often stayed awake using baby monitors, door alarms, and even sleeping beside him, knowing there was no safe traditional bed option once he outgrew his crib. Because of the overwhelming generosity of our community, Matty is now fully funded for a medically necessary Cubby Bed—an enclosed safety bed designed to prevent wandering and injury while giving him a secure, restful place to sleep.
Thanks to you, Matty’s nights will soon be safer, and his family can finally rest with peace of mind. This Thanksgiving season, we are deeply grateful for a community that makes stories like Matty’s possible—one bed at a time.
Brinley is a joyful and energetic 9-year-old from Maywood, MO who loves swinging, bubbles, swimming, and anything that makes music—especially the “Happy Birthday” song. She brings so much light to her family and everyone who knows her. Nighttime, however, has always been challenging. Brinley has Down syndrome, autism, is nonverbal, and has a severe intellectual disability. She struggles with elopement and unsafe nighttime behaviors, and in the past has left the house—once entering a neighbor’s home and another time being found in a vehicle. Living in a rural area surrounded by woods and water makes these moments especially dangerous. Her family tried using an Amazon bed tent, but Brinley frequently tore through them, leaving nights filled with banging, restlessness, and no true sense of safety.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, Brinley’s safety bed was fully funded in less than 2 days—and it will arrive just in time for Christmas. This durable, enclosed bed will prevent elopement, reduce the chance of injury, and finally give Brinley the secure sleep environment she desperately needs. Most importantly, it will bring her family peace of mind and the gift of restful nights.
Thank you to every donor who made this Christmas miracle possible for Brinley and her family.

JB is a bright, beautiful 2-year-old from Bolivar, MO whose medical journey began the moment he was born. He struggled to swallow, failed his newborn hearing tests, and started having seizures at just three days old. Since then, he has received a long list of complex diagnoses, including a rare leukodystrophy-type brain disease, chromosome 14q32 duplication syndrome, progressive hearing loss, developmental delays, and feeding intolerance. Despite these challenges, JB shines with joy and sweetness. Because of his fragile brain and frequent seizures, a traditional crib was no longer safe. JB had been sleeping in a P-Pod chair, and any nighttime seizure put him at serious risk of injury. His parents took turns staying awake through the night to protect him—an exhausting reality no family should face alone. That’s why this campaign was so urgent. And because of the incredible generosity of this community, JB’s safety bed was fully funded in less than a week. Even more amazing—his bed will be delivered just in time for Christmas. For his family, it feels like a true miracle. This seizure-safe medical bed will finally give JB a secure place to sleep and provide his parents with the peace of mind they have desperately needed. JB’s mom shared: “Insurance companies see paperwork—but they don’t see the real struggles… the sleepless nights, the sacrifices. To other special-needs moms, I see you. JB is a blessing. God knew we could care for him, and I’m forever grateful He entrusted us with our boy.” JB loves being outside, taking wheelchair walks under the trees, bubbles, lights, and watching Bluey. He brings light everywhere he goes—and now, thanks to your generosity, he will also have a safe, protected space to rest each night. Thank you to every donor who made this Christmas gift possible for JB and his family.
