2026 Success Stories

Malachi is a 4-year-old from Ozark, Missouri, whose joyful spirit shines through every part of his life. He has complex medical and developmental needs, including ADNP syndrome, profound Level 3 autism, global developmental delays, mixed receptive-expressive language disorder, significant visual impairment due to Cortical Visual Impairment (CVI), and sleep apnea that requires oxygen at night. Malachi experiences the world with the understanding and impulse control of a toddler, even as his body continues to grow. He has very limited awareness of danger and is drawn to movement, climbing, and water—traits that bring him joy during the day but create serious safety concerns at night. As he grew older and stronger, Malachi outgrew a traditional crib and learned to open doors, leaving his family without a safe or sustainable sleep option. In an effort to protect him, Malachi’s parents created a heavily modified, homemade enclosure where he slept on a mattress on the floor. While this setup was made with love and ingenuity, it required constant adjustments as Malachi continued to grow and was never intended to be a long-term solution. Nighttime remained stressful and unpredictable, especially with the added concern of keeping his oxygen tubing safely in place while he slept.

A specialized safety bed offered the solution Malachi and his family so desperately needed. Designed to provide a secure, calming environment, the bed will significantly reduce the risk of nighttime injury, support his medical needs, and offer consistency and comfort as he grows. Most importantly, it gives Malachi a safe space of his own—one where he can rest, regulate, and feel secure. Malachi is a sensory-seeker who loves spinning, swinging, sliding, jumping on the trampoline, light-up toys, and familiar routines that help him make sense of the world around him. When he is happy, his joy is unmistakable. When he is overwhelmed, his emotions can change quickly—not by choice, but as part of how his brain processes stimulation. For Malachi, a safety bed is not a luxury; it is a critical tool that supports both his safety and his well-being.

Malachi’s bed became A Bed for Izzy’s first fully funded safety bed of 2026, made possible in just a few days through the generosity of donors who believed in his need and his future. Because of that support, Malachi now has a safe place to sleep, grow, and thrive—and his family has the peace of mind that comes from knowing he is protected through the night.

Miles is an 8-year-old boy from Cape Girardeau diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder Level 3. He is nonverbal and experiences severe self-harm behaviors, especially at night, requiring constant supervision to keep him safe. For a long time, nighttime in Miles’ home was filled with exhaustion and fear. His previous bed had become a serious safety hazard. He climbed on it, jumped from it, and even ripped tiles from the roof, exposing nails that caused injuries. He broke support pieces underneath from forceful jumping. When he woke during the night, he wandered, broke items, accessed unsafe objects, and often hurt himself. His family lived in a constant state of alert, with little rest and even less peace.

But today — that story has changed. Because of this incredible community, Miles is now fully funded for his ZPod safety bed. 🎉 This secure, enclosed space is designed specifically for children with complex needs and will provide Miles with a safe, calming environment he can enjoy — while dramatically reducing the risk of nighttime injury.

Miles is calm, brave, and quietly determined. He loves climbing trees, exploring the outdoors, jumping on the trampoline, swimming for hours, and spending time with his beloved cat, Big Kitty. Watching his favorite shows on his tablet with Big Kitty nearby brings him comfort and calm.

Now, thanks to the generosity of so many, Miles will have a safe place to rest. His siblings will sleep more peacefully. His mom can exhale.

This is what community looks like.
This is what safer nights look like.
This is the impact of one bed. 💛

Because of YOU… Beau now has the safe sleep he deserves. 💙

Beau is a 6-year-old from Chaffee, Missouri who is autistic (Level 3), nonverbal, and has no awareness of danger. For his family, nights were once filled with uncertainty and fear. Beau would wake at unpredictable hours, often becoming destructive—breaking lights, ceiling fans, TVs, iPads, and toys. He could unlock doors, outsmart new locks, and even move bolted furniture. His dangerous fixation on electrical outlets led to injuries, even with safety covers in place.

To keep Beau and his siblings safe, his parents faced incredibly difficult decisions—like locking his bedroom door at night (in coordination with his ABA team), and even having Beau stay with his grandmother for a short time after his baby sister was born. One especially scary night, Beau broke through his lock and was found holding his newborn sister—not out of harm, but out of love. It was a powerful reminder of just how unsafe nights had become without the right support.

But today, things are different. ✨

Thanks to this incredible community, Beau is now receiving a Cubby bed—giving him a secure, purpose-built space to sleep safely through the night. This bed will help prevent injury, limit access to dangerous items, and provide the structure he needs.

For his parents, it means something just as important: peace of mind, rest, and the ability to sleep knowing their son is safe.

Beau is energetic, curious, and full of life. He loves lamps and ceiling fans, watching the family’s cameras on his iPad, throwing water balloons, playing with the dogs, and spending time with his siblings. He is deeply loved—and because of you, he now has a safer place to rest, grow, and thrive.

From the bottom of our hearts—thank you for showing up for Beau and his family. 💙

Because of this incredible community… Grace is getting the safe sleep she deserves. 💙

Grace is a joyful and resilient 3-year-old from Nixa, MO who was diagnosed at just 7 months old with Wiedemann–Steiner syndrome—a rare genetic condition that brings a wide range of developmental and medical challenges unique to each child.

Despite everything she faces, Grace’s light shines so brightly. She loves reading books, going on family outings, and being around others. She especially enjoys swimming, playing in the water, and dreaming of beach days. She has a special love for Daniel Tiger, connecting with it in her own meaningful way, and she takes in the world so beautifully—always observing, always learning.

Grace’s journey hasn’t been easy. She has complex medical needs, including a G-tube for continuous daytime and nighttime feeds, seizures, sleep apnea, and challenges with mobility and safety. She also has a Level 3 autism diagnosis, is nonverbal, and experiences insomnia and nighttime sensory needs that require constant monitoring.

Until now, Grace has been sleeping in a standard crib with a zip-up enclosure—but as she has grown, this setup has no longer been safe. She has been at risk of falls, entanglement with medical equipment, and injury if she attempts to climb or exit. With her medical conditions, she requires close overnight supervision and quick access for care.

✨ But thanks to YOU, that is changing. ✨

In April 2026, Grace received a specialized Cubby Bed that provides her with a secure, medically appropriate sleep environment—reducing the risk of injury while allowing her parents and caregivers to safely monitor her, manage her medical equipment, and respond quickly during the night.

For her family, this means more than just a bed. It means peace of mind, safer nights, and the ability to rest knowing Grace is protected.

Grace’s story is one of strength, love, and determination. She was welcomed into her family as a foster baby from the NICU at just 4 weeks old and was later adopted just before her second birthday. From the very beginning, she has been a fighter—overcoming obstacles with a spirit that inspires everyone around her.

Her family continues to advocate for her every step of the way, celebrating every milestone—big or small—and giving her the best life possible.

💙 Thank you for showing up for Grace. Thank you for being part of her story. 💙
