Beau is a 6-year-old from Chaffee, Missouri, who is autistic (Level 3), nonverbal, and has no awareness of danger. Nights are especially hard—Beau wakes at unpredictable hours and can become destructive, breaking lights, ceiling fans, TVs, iPads, and toys. He is able to unlock most locks, figure out replacements, move bolted furniture, and has become dangerously fixated on electrical outlets, even injuring himself despite safety covers.
Because of the risk to Beau and his siblings, his parents have had to make incredibly difficult choices, including locking his bedroom door at night (documented with his ABA team) and, at one point, having Beau stay with his grandmother for a few days after his baby sister was born. One night, Beau broke his lock and was found holding his newborn sister—not out of harm, but love—highlighting just how unsafe nights can be without the right supports.
A specialized safety bed would give Beau a secure, purpose-built place to sleep, reducing the risk of injury, elopement, and access to dangerous items. For his parents, it would mean peace, rest, and the ability to sleep knowing their little boy is safe.
Beau loves lamps and ceiling fans, watching the family’s cameras on an iPad, throwing water balloons, playing with the dogs, and spending time with his siblings. He is energetic, curious, and determined—and deeply loved. For Beau, a safety bed isn’t a luxury—it’s a necessity. With your support, we can provide him a safe place to rest, grow, and thrive.

Miles is an 8-year-old from Cape Girardeau, Missouri, diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder Level 3 and is nonverbal. He experiences severe self-harm behaviors, particularly during the night, and requires constant supervision to remain safe. To those who know him best, Miles is calm, brave, and quietly determined. He is the strong, silent type—approaching the world in his own way, even when things are hard. Miles’s current bed is no longer safe. He climbs on it, jumps from it, and has torn tiles from the roof, exposing nails that have already caused injuries. He has also jumped with enough force to break the support pieces underneath the bed. What was meant to be a place of rest has become a serious safety risk. Miles does not sleep through the night. When he wakes, he wanders, accesses unsafe items, breaks things, and often hurts himself—keeping his entire household in a constant state of alert. His family has not experienced consistent rest or peace in a long time. Miles needs a ZPod safety bed, which would provide a secure, comfortable space designed to keep him safe through the night. This bed would allow Miles to sleep in an environment he enjoys, while giving his siblings uninterrupted rest and providing his mother much-needed peace of mind. Miles loves being outdoors—climbing trees, jumping on the trampoline, swimming, and spending time in nature. He also deeply loves his cat, Big Kitty, whose presence brings him comfort and calm.
For Miles, a safety bed is not a luxury—it is essential to his safety and well-being.
